Main Water Line Repair in Yakima, WA
Repair and replacement for leaking or failing water-service lines, from the meter to the building.
Chapter 01
Signs the buried line between meter and house is failing
The line between the supply and the building is underground, so it usually announces itself indirectly: wet soil between the meter and the building, low or inconsistent water pressure, rust-colored or cloudy water, or a jump in water use with no explanation.
Aging galvanized pipe, failing plastic pipe, repeated leaks along the same service line, and damage from soil movement or freezing are the usual reasons a buried line gives out. When it does, the goal is simple: restore dependable water service.

Who owns which part of the line
Responsibility can vary by location and utility. The customer-owned service line commonly begins after the utility connection or meter, but confirm with the local water provider before any work is planned.
Low pressure and cloudy water do not always come from the buried line, so the other plumbing gets checked before anyone assumes the service line is the problem. When the evidence points underground, that is when CSR talks with you about repair or replacement of the line.
Chapter 03
Route, scope and pressure test
The job starts with the route: where the line enters the building, where the meter sits and what the existing pipe is made of. From there the scope is defined, which can include locating utilities, excavation, durable new piping and inspection.
A narrow trench behind a fence takes a small backhoe and a careful operator, and the new line is pressure tested once it is installed. Call CSR Plumbing at (509) 480-2536 on a weekday and have the service address and the symptoms ready.
